OVERVIEW

The French Research Agency ANRS (France REcherche Nord&Sud Sida-hiv Hépatites) is an autonomous agency within Inserm. ANRS evaluates and funds research projects, as well as coordinates research on HIV and Hepatitis in all domains of research: basic research and pathogenesis, vaccine discovery, clinical research and epidemiology, as well as social sciences, in France and in resource-limited settings.

 

As part of its mission ANRS is organizing the International Symposium “Novel Technologies to Advance HIV Research”, to be held at the Institut Pasteur, Paris, on October 4^th and 5^th 2016.

The symposium will bring together HIV and Non HIV researchers, who are conceiving, developing or applying new methods to significantly advance their field of research. The goal of the 2016 ANRS Symposium is to explore whether these technologies could also lead to breakthroughs on key issues of HIV pathogenesis, treatment and prevention research.

The meeting is addressed to participants involved in HIV basic research, vaccine discovery, HIV cure and remission research, experimental medicine and those conducting cohort studies. Previous knowledge of the technologies to be discussed is not necessary. Communications of results and ongoing work that help us understand viral-host interactions and immune responses are welcome.

The 2016 ANRS meeting is a seminar of the ANRS. It differs from the previous ANRS Basic Research Symposia on HIV and hepatitis viruses (Paris 2012, Montpellier, 2014) by focusing mainly, but not exclusively, on HIV and AIDS. This is intended to set about an intense scientific program to promote the Conference IAS 2017 “HIV Science”, which is co-organized by the ANRS and the IAS, and will take place in Paris on July 2017.
